Introduction
Your privacy matters to us deeply, and you deserve to know exactly what happens with your data when you use our app. So instead of burying everything in complicated legal language that nobody actually reads, we've written this in plain English. Here's what we collect, why we collect it, and how we protect it — transparently and honestly.
What FaceShift Does & Collects
FaceShift is a face-swapping app built for fun, creativity, and entertainment. Whether you're making your friends laugh, creating content, or just experimenting with AI-powered photo magic, we're here to make that experience seamless and enjoyable. We use advanced AI technology to power the face-swap feature — and while the tech is sophisticated, our approach to your privacy is straightforward.
To make the app work, we collect a few things. The photos and videos you upload are sent to our servers purely to process the swap you requested and nothing else. If you create an account, we ask only for your email and a display name. We also collect basic anonymized usage data like crash reports and feature usage to help us improve the app over time.
How We Use Your Data
Everything we collect has one purpose: making FaceShift work well for you. We use account information to manage your profile, usage data to fix bugs and improve performance, and your uploaded photos strictly to generate the face-swap output you asked for — nothing more.
We want to be crystal clear about what we don't do: we don't use your photos or face data to train our AI models, we don't build advertising profiles based on your behavior, and we don't sell or trade your personal information to third parties for any reason. Your data is yours, and we treat it that way.
Your Photos & Face Data
We know that photos — especially ones containing your face — are deeply personal, and we don't take that lightly. When you upload an image, it travels securely to our servers, gets processed for the specific swap you requested, and the result is returned to you. At no point do we store your facial geometry, create a biometric profile, or use your likeness for anything beyond the task at hand.
All uploaded images are automatically and permanently purged from our servers within 24 hours of your session. If you save a result to your in-app gallery, it stays securely tied to your account and is only accessible by you. You can delete any saved image at any time from your profile settings, and it will be wiped from our systems immediately.
Third-Party Services
FaceShift relies on a small number of carefully vetted third-party services to function — cloud infrastructure for secure file processing, an analytics platform to understand app performance, and a payment processor for premium subscriptions. Each of these partners is bound by strict data processing agreements that prohibit them from using your information for their own purposes.
We don't integrate with ad networks, we don't use data brokers, and we don't allow any third party to access your images or personal information for marketing or profiling. When we partner with a service, we make sure their values around privacy align with ours before any data ever touches their systems.
Your Rights & Policy Updates
You have real control over your data. At any time, you can request a full export of your data, ask us to correct inaccurate information, or request permanent deletion of your account and everything associated with it. EU users are protected under GDPR and California residents under CCPA — just reach out and we'll walk you through your options.
When we make meaningful updates to this policy, we'll notify you in advance via email or an in-app notice before anything takes effect. We'll never quietly adjust things in ways that reduce your protections without giving you a fair heads-up first.
